How to incorporate philosophy into our daily lives.
Our daily life that repeats day in and day out. This is where we actually live. This is where the human experience occurs, and this is where the big questions about life arise.
“What is love?” “What is death?” “Why do we work?” “Why is life full of pain?” Are there answers to these questions we come across so many times in our lives?
Richard David Precht, called 'an icon of modern German philosophers,' says, “There is no answer to philosophical questions.”
Then why do we learn philosophy? And what for? Precht warns that philosophy shouldn’t be confused with self-help books that claim to give us all the answers. Philosophy is a never-ending dialogue with oneself, watching our everyday life, determining what meaning everyday life has, and deciding how we should look at our daily existence. Thus, philosophy lets us discover the purpose and abundance of life. Precht clearly explains philosophy through various lenses, such as history, biology, and culture, using concrete facts, not vague words and reason. In Richard David Precht’s lecture series, we’ll uncover the philosophy hidden in our daily lives.
