An exploration of humanity, society, and the freedom through the concepts of Hegel's Philosophy
This 13-lecture series on Hegel offers a systematic exploration of the
philosophy of Hegel—widely regarded as the most difficult thinker in Western
philosophy. Why does Hegel's vision of explaining human freedom, society,
history, and art within a single philosophical system remain at the center of
debate to this day? The first lecture examines the background in which Hegel's
philosophy took shape through his life and thought, while subsequent lectures
trace the structure of consciousness, concepts, being, and cognition step by
step via the Phenomenology of Spirit and the Science of Logic. The series then
explores the relationship between freedom and the state through the Philosophy
of Right, before expanding into the philosophy of history and aesthetics to
reflect on the implications Hegel's thought carries for modern society. Moving
beyond abstruse philosophical theory, the lectures offer Hegel's philosophy as
a framework of thought through which to understand the society and era we
inhabit.

Hegel. He researches and teaches at Friedrich Schiller University Jena,
deepening Hegel's thought with a focus on German Idealism and the philosophy of
freedom. He has earned international academic recognition in particular for his
original interpretation of the Philosophy of Right and the concept of Absolute
Spirit, and continues research that recasts Hegel's philosophy in the context
of modern society. He also caused a significant impact by discovering and
studying previously unpublished Hegel lecture manuscripts, thereby expanding
the horizons of scholarship.
