Exploring Existential Life Through the World of Zhuangzi

In an era of relentless competition, survival in 21st-century capitalist society necessitates engaging in constant rivalry. People tirelessly strive to prove their worth through credentials, careers, and experiences. In a world where every effort is reduced to rankings, individuals push themselves to the limit, often succumbing to burnout. Fear of falling behind others and feelings of despair are common.

Why are we so driven to outdo others? Why do we seek success? How should we live going forward? Wang Bo, Vice President of Peking University and a leading authority on Zhuangzi, seeks to answer these profound questions through the life and philosophy of Zhuangzi.

Zhuangzi’s life was the epitome of living outside societal constraints. Over 2,500 years ago, his pursuit of absolute spiritual freedom shattered conventional thinking. His philosophy represents a radical departure from the norm, challenging deeply ingrained ideas. For modern individuals exhausted both physically and mentally by the endless race of competition, Zhuangzi’s message offers a beacon of hope. Together with Wang Bo, who has dedicated his life to studying

Zhuangzi, we explore how to navigate this chaotic world and find a way to live authentically as ourselves.
