What is the universe composed of?
Particle physicists have struggled to discover the primary material that the universe is made of. Lisa Randall drew the attention of the physics community in 1999 when she and Raman Sundrum presented a vital clue to the hierarchy problem of the Standard Model of particle physics. In this lecture, she will explain this groundbreaking theory in a way anyone can understand.
Lisa Randall's presentations delve into groundbreaking concepts in physics. She starts by introducing the 'Extra Dimension,' central to Randall-Sundrum theory, and explains particle physics and effective field theory through scalability. By the third talk, she addresses how Randall-Sundrum theory resolves the Standard Model's longstanding hierarchy problem. In her final discussions, Randall explores Dark Matter and her "Dual Disc Dark Matter" hypothesis, which has significantly advanced our understanding of the universe's intricate interconnectedness.
