In this lecture, Professor Yanagisawa explains how sleep is regulated through the interaction of sleep cycles, sleep pressure, and the biological clock. He examines how sleep deprivation affects health, including growth, obesity, and dementia, supported by scientific research. The lecture also explores the mechanisms of sleep and wakefulness centered on the discovery of orexin.
