The secret for those dreaming of Silicon Valley success.

John Hennessy, the tenth president of Stanford University and current chairman of Alphabet Inc., Google’s parent company, knows culture and talent more than anyone else. This is why he was once called the "Godfather of Silicon Valley" by Marc Lowell Andreessen, American entrepreneur and software engineer. What is the secret behind the success of Silicon Valley? How did Silicon Valley achieve such innovation? And what is the secret of a successful tech company? Hennessy’s answer to all these questions is always “talent.” He talks about what crucial leadership qualities future leaders should have.

In lecture one, The Secret of Silicon Valley, he vividly explains the story of the most well-known start-ups of Silicon Valley. These include Hewlett and Packard, who started a business in a garage; Larry Page and Sergey Brin, Google’s founders; and Steve Jobs, an innovation icon. He also talks about the cultural elements behind of the success of Silicon Valley. In lecture two, Leadership Education at Stanford, he reviews the leadership qualities required for young leaders of not only Silicon Valley but for any leaders of global companies. In lecture three, Crisis: The Key to Success, Hennessy, with his own stories of struggle, tells us about various crises and solutions that almost all start-up leaders will face in their journey to success.
